“Safari Seaplanes” has been
flying Maule seaplanes for over 16 years
now! Its proven reliability and safety
record have pleased thousands of clients
over the company's successful years of
service in the Bahamas.
We are proud to feature our new Maule
M7-260 on Baumann Amphibian floats. Now
able to service airports and water landings!
She can carry 2-3 persons and light luggage
comfortably flying at an average of 120mph
Built in Moultrie, Georgia the famous S.T.O.L.
(Short Takeoff and Landing) aircraft was the brainchild
of the late B.D. Maule. All the history can be
found on the Aircraft Company website: www.mauleairinc.com
The airframe is constructed of steel which is then
specially coated with protective barriers against
corrosion, both on the outer surfaces and within!
The frame is then covered in a fabric finish which
is quite complex to complete but the results are
amazing. A very strong, light fuselage is rigged
with aluminum wings and fiberglass cowling.
The M7-260 Maule is powered by a Lycoming
IO-540 260hp engine, one of
the ‘work
horses’ of the aviation industry.
Added to her underside is a set of aluminum
floats manufactured in Wisconsin. The
three bladed McCauley propeller creates
a fabulous combination of grace and power
that allows the seaplane to cruise at
120mph and land at less than 50mph in
a matter of feet! Full of fuel the seaplane
can fly for over four hours. The large
windows and high wing allow spectacular
views offered to the clientele that fly
in this wonderful machine!
Some of the landing
sites in the Bahama Out-Islands are very
small confined areas that only the Maule
can handle. Its takeoff performance is
unmatched by any other seaplane of this
size!
